Tomorrow afternoon we leave for Book Expo America. It's the biggest event in the US publishing industry--virtually every publisher in the business is there, showing off their fall lists to booksellers, press, etc. There are tons of authors in attendance, from celebrities (Bill Maher, Billy Crystal) to people like me. We see lots of friends, hit some parties, check out new books. It's a great time and we're looking forward to it.
Plus, Thursday night we have tickets for Spamalot.
It'll be a long weekend. We have to drive to Phoenix tomorrow because there are no non-stop flights to NY from Tucson, which is the closer airport to us (although by closer, I mean 2 hours instead of almost 4). The only way to get in early enough on Thursday for the play is to leave from Phoenix first thing Thursday morning. So Wednesday is largely a travel day, getting us into position for Thursday's travel day. We'll actually be at BEA on Friday and Saturday, then flying home on Sunday.
If you don't hear much from me, that's why. I'll try to post but may be a bit on the busy side.
