I'm not a big sports fan, as long-time readers can probably surmise from the lack of sports-related posts here. But I was born in the Chicago 'burbs, and lived there until I was six. And I still love visiting Chicago, one of America's greatest cities.
Houston, on the other hand, I recall chiefly for its traffic, smog, and the fact that it probably has the highest number of people heavily invested in a Bush presidency.
As a kid, I was a Cubs fan, and my older brother liked the Sox. So it's not really like it's my team out there. But it's still the home town club, and they are, as they say, kicking ass. I almost hope Houston can win one just to prolong their agony a bit, but there's a certain pleasure in four up, four down, too.
I'm just glad that my brother and I lived long enough to see a Sox World Series win, since the last time it happened was 1917.
Im a red socks fan. It was great to see them win last year. Since they didnt make it this year I can only cheer you and your "team" on. Even though Im from texas im not a big fan of the Astros, but dont let my Grandma know that.

I gotta say, the Red Sox victory last year was very sweet too.
