Gerry Alanguilan

Hello Jeff! I just found your blog. It's very nice to read up on what's been going on with you. And wow, you've doing really great! It always remains a pleasure to have, once upon a time, worked with you.

Hi Gerry! Great to hear from you.

Gerry, for those who don't know, was an artist on my first original comic book series, called Hazard, many moons ago. Hazard was a bounty hunter who was intentionally infected with nanotechnology that enhanced his strength, senses, etc., so that he could be turned into an assassin (at the control of the villain who infected him, and who could easily turn the nanites against him if he refused his mission. Which he did anyway, being essentially a decent guy. I actually took part in a Hollywood pitch meeting for this project, at TNT, when "Rowdy" Roddy Piper wanted to play Hazard in a movie and a couple of production companies got on board.

Like most Hollywood meetings, nothing came of it.

But I got to work with some terrific artists, including Gerry and Roy Allan Martinez, and I still think the 7-issue series holds up pretty well.
