I've served jury duty three times myself, twice criminal and once civil. One case I was on lasted six days, more a white collar crime than violence. Out of eighty-seven charges, we found them guilty of four and were hung on the rest.
It was indeed a memorable experience and one I never tried to get out of like a lot of people I know.

Wow, that's a long and complicated case. Mine have always been 2-3 day affairs.

Totally agree with you. I think it's really pity, that we dont really have a jury thing here in Germany. Because I think it's better for 10 people to decide if someone is guilty instead of one (or three if you really count our "Schoeffen"-System.
