Talking Points Memo is generally a good source for left-leaning news (and lately a lot of really good, detailed original reporting on economic issues). But this post is about books--what happens if we go all Kindle-y and embrace the e-book concept, even while technology is changing dramatically every couple of years. Or to put it more bluntly, when was the last time you shoved a floppy disk into your disk drive, or listened to that favorite 8-track?
There have been no recent improvements in book technology. Printing technology, yes. But books? Paper things with a spine and pages have been around for hundreds of years, and there is nothing electronic that's as user-friendly. Anyone proclaiming the end of print is just wrong.
