Is there a tripod shortage in Hollywood? Should we take up a collection?

here's our movie geeks review of it... http://www.normantranscript.com/archivesearch/local_story_142071147.html
i mention that i was really looking forward to this, since i was 8 and saw that first tank tread roll over the human skull in the first terminator....sigh...why is the video game better than the movie for this? seriously?
seriously, jeff...i loved christian bale going into dark knight (he was the only part that put wall-e over it as the movie of the year, to me) and i've loved him since Swing Kids....is he over-acting? no...not really...but he really wasn't even a main character in t-salvation
I thought Bale was fine as Bruce Wayne. But when he started up with that pseudo-Clint Eastwood rasp every time he put on the cowl, all I could do was laugh out loud. When you're supposed to strike fear into the hearts of evildoers and instead you're making them wet their pants laughing at your absurd affectation, you're in trouble.
That ruined the movie for me, despite its other good qualities, and is the reason I haven't been able to watch it again. I thought Iron Man was a far superior superhero movie.
In T:S, he growled somewhere between Bruce and Bats, and I kept thinking, This guy's got range; he can do THREE voices! Granted, the script gave him nothing whatsoever to do emotionally.

Yeah, not as good as it should have been. And I'm becoming increasingly less impressed with Christian Bale's acting ability.
