Every year, for a few weeks, the rose tree here at the Flying M Ranch blooms. The flowers are yellow and white and burst forth in spring-inspired abundance.
The tree is a Lady Banks' (Rosa banksia) rose, started from a clipping from the World's Largest Rose Tree, according to the Guinness Book of Records, at the Rose Tree Museum in Tombstone, AZ. Theirs was planted in 1886, so has had quite a bit longer to grow. Some years this one is fuller, some not so much, but last year and this were both extravagant blooms. Deer find the blossoms extremely tasty. Here are a few pictures of this year's tree (including one that shows the house, for scale).
