As we get closer to the official February 8 release date for Empty Rooms, I'm spending a lot of time writing material for various blogs and websites, most but not all of them crime/thriller related. With the help of the good folks at WordFire Press, I'm also about to have a Goodreads Giveaway and a Reddit AMA!
The Goodreads Giveaway starts at midnight on Friday, January 30 and ends at midnight, February 6, so be sure to get your entry in. And while you're at it, become a friend or a fan or whatever it is people do on Goodreads (okay, I'm new there).
The Reddit AMA is still a little ways off, so we'll talk about that another time, and as soon as all the blog appearances are lined up, I'll let you know about those, too.
Meanwhile, there's also Deadlands news, including a new interview with me and artist Brook Turner about our story, "Black Water," in the Deadlands: Dead Man's Hand comic book collection.
And there are two big Kickstarters underway. One is for an upcoming Deadlands graphic novel project, The Cackler, written by Shane Hensley--the mastermind behind the Deadlands game and universe, with art by the legendary Bart Sears. This one tells the really true secret origin of one of the universe's favorite villains! The second is the Stone and a Hard Place Plot Point Campaign, featuring Stone, another fan-fave killer (who meets The Cackler in the graphic novel).
As both Kickstarters say:
"Stone stalks the High Plains seeking heroes to kill. The Cackler hunts the Weird West in search of a mysterious girl called Rachel. Both of these killers are stone-cold dead...Harrowed...and what they're about to do kicks off the next era in the story of Deadlands!
"Join us for a walk on the DEAD SIDE as we create two very different but linked projects that start us on the road for the 20th anniversary of Deadlands coming in 2016."
