Tomorrow's Halloween, which is always a special occasion for those of us in the horror-writing community. Right now, HarperCollins, the publisher of 7 SYKOS (the first collaborative novel by my wife and partner Marsheila (Marcy) Rockwell and me) is celebrating by offering the ebook for only 99 cents! Ordinarily it's $7.99, the same as the paperback, so this is an incredible deal. But it won't last long, so if you read ebooks and like stories about zombies, psychopaths, or both--and there has only been this one book about both--give it a try.
And remember, reviews are important, especially if you like a book. So please, give it a read and leave a review.
After Halloween, the next big event coming along is the annual Tucson Comic-Con--the best, most entertaining comic con in the country. It's not like some, so huge that you can't make your way through the aisles or get into the panels you want to see, but it's big enough to get fantastic guests from the worlds of comics, books, movies and TV, cosplay, and the rest of the pop culture universe, along with tons of great vendors and amazing programming.
The con runs November 4-6 at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, AZ. Marcy and I will be there all weekend, mostly in Booth 427, on Authors Alley. Here's the floor plan.
I'm on two panels, both on Saturday. The first, at 11:30 AM in the Greenlee Room with Brian Miller and Bernie Fritts, is Artistic Ability Not Required: Ways to Break Into the Comic Industry. Then at 1:30 PM, Marcy and I will talk about Writing in Other People's Worlds for Money and Fun in the Gila Room.
The rest of the time, you'll be able to find us at Booth 427. We'll have a huge selection of our books and comics, old and new, including, of course, 7 SYKOS. We'll also have copies of my nonfiction book Criminal Minds: Sociopaths, Serial Killers & Other Deviants, which I haven't been able to sell at cons for years, as well as copies of my newest novel, Deadlands: Thunder Moon Rising. If there's something you especially want us to bring, leave a comment here or drop me a note at email@example.com and we'll try to make it happen.
The following weekend is the TusCon science fiction, fantasy, and horror convention, which we're also attending--more details on that soon!
