Although it's still a couple of months until the release of our next novel, my amazing wife and writing partner Marsheila (Marcy) Rockwell and I have been busy, and there's some new short fiction by us out there for your reading pleasure!
After a long gestation period, the anthology Mech: Age of Steel is finally on sale. In addition to lots of other terrific stories, it contains our tale "A Single Feather" (in which the mech isn't steel at all--in fact it's safe to say that ours strays pretty far from the traditional Pacific Rim-style mechs featured in most of the stories). It's available as an ebook and a paperback, online and in a store near you.
Submerged is an anthology of deep-sea science fiction and fantasy stories by a veritable who's-who of the genres. Our near-future SF story is "Son of Blob." Giant squid fans (of which I am one) will want to get their tentacles on this ASAP! It's officially on sale September 1 in ebook form. If I hear about a paperback, I'll let you know.
Finally, our horror story "The Lottons Show" (featuring both clowns and puppets, so guaranteed to scare!) isn't brand new--it was chosen to kick off a series of horror novellas called Single Slices. But now Cutting Block Books has gathered the first batch of Slices and released them as Cutting Block Single Slices, Vol. 1. It includes "The Lottons Show," which was previously only available as an ebook, but the anthology is in paperback, so now you can add that little gem to your bookshelves.
