I can finally announce my latest writing project: I wrote the first licensed novel based on the Netflix TV series NARCOS.
It's an incredible show from Gaumont International Television, a division of the French company Gaumont (the oldest film company in the world--read about its seriously cool history here: http://www.gaumonttelevision.com/index.php/about/who/). The novel will be published in early November by Titan Books (https://titanbooks.com).
The first two seasons of NARCOS focus on Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar, and that's the period in which my novel--NARCOS: THE JAGUAR'S CLAW--is set. The book will introduce some new characters, including the titular Jaguar, and define some of the history of Don Pablo and his crew that we haven't seen onscreen. It's a fast-paced thriller, for which I did tons of historical research on the era, the cocaine trade of the 1970s-80s, Colombia, and more.
It's already available for pre-order at online bookstores everywhere, or you can drop into your local bricks-and-mortar store and ask them to order it for you. Every pre-order helps! A few links:
Here's the official sales copy: "The first official NARCOS tie-in novel. THE JAGUAR'S CLAW tells the story of Jose Aguilar Gonzales, an idealistic young Medellín police officer who finds himself drawn into service to Pablo Escobar. He becomes one of Escobar's top sicarios--before exposure to the human costs of the cocaine epidemic, combined with personal tragedy, turn Aguilar against his former patron. Through Jose's eyes, we see the inner workings of the Medellín Cartel and get to know the powerful, charismatic, and murderous man at its head."
Working with this property is a huge thrill for me. If you haven't watched NARCOS yet, you can still catch up before the book comes out--and if you have seen it, then I know you're already excitedly awaiting this next chapter in the story. Season 4 launches around the time the book comes out.
